The Best Ways To Break A Sweat This Summer

Hey guys!  We’re so excited to get the blog running again - we’ve missed you!  So, spring has come to an end and summer is right around the corner.  You know what that means: warmer weather, longer beach days, and endless outdoor activities, especially as the world finally opens up again after a year of social distancing!  At REVLY, we’ve adopted the mantra “Sweat Every Day,” because we believe in the power and confidence that comes with getting active and embracing your body!  Personally, spring is my favorite season to transition from indoor to outdoor workouts.  It’s no secret that exercise is good for your physical and mental health, so pairing those endorphins with some sunshine and fresh air is a perfect way to boost your mood and work those muscles.

My favorite way to start the day with a kick is outdoor beach yoga.  There’s just something about warm sand and the sound of ocean waves that makes those sun salutations especially cleansing.  No beaches nearby?  No problem!  Local parks, back yards, and even apartment balconies are great places to catch some vitamin D and focus your mind for the day ahead.  Also, largely due to the pandemic, plenty of studios have introduced outdoor classes to their practice, so look into your local gyms and see if they offer outdoor sessions.  Open-air practice isn’t for everyone, but it’s definitely worth a shot - I’ve personally found it to be super calming and rejuvenating!

If yoga’s not your thing, maybe you’ll take to my second favorite outdoor activity: hiking.  Now, I’m lucky enough to live in a city with a bit of everything - beaches, mountains, and even some desert trails!  However, you don’t need a scenic route to get the most out of your weekly hike.  Living that urban life?  Take a walk or run through your favorite locations and neighborhoods.  You can also take this opportunity to explore parts of your city that you’ve never made the time to visit (safely of course - travel with a buddy!).  More of a suburban girl?  Hit those parks and local shops.  Even just thirty minutes outside exploring your city can provide the light cardio and mental refresh for a positive and productive day!

Alright, this one’s for my beach babes.  Living by the ocean has endless benefits, and one of them is the countless water sports and activities.  I’ll be the first to say I’m not the best surfer.  If I catch one or two waves in a session, then it’s a banner day for me.  Instead of riding the waves, I’ve taken up paddle boarding!  It’s an ideal middle ground for the less-balanced individuals, and it’s still a great way to work your arms and abs.  Finally, I can’t talk about water sports without including, of course, swimming!  Swimming works nearly every muscle in your body while incorporating cardio and strengthening your heart and lungs.  Whether it’s in the ocean or the pool, a quick dip in the water has a plethora of mental and physical benefits.  Not to mention, I may know of an amazing swimwear brand that can tag along with you (wink, wink)!

The weather is warm and the water is fine, so it’s a perfect time to bring your indoor workouts to the open air and embrace the Sweat Everyday lifestyle!  And here at REVLY, we’ve got the best suits and activewear to bring confidence and comfort to all your summer adventures!  We’ve got a new launch coming up soon, so make sure to keep up with us on Instagram, TikTok, and our website to get all the latest news!
