Swimwear Maintenance 101

Swimwear Maintenance 101

Maintaining sustainable swimwear is essential to ensure its longevity and reduce environmental impact. REVLY swimwear and activewear is designed, cut, sewn, and packaged locally in Southern California, where we can ensure our production team is treated and compensated fairly in safe and healthy working conditions. Here are some tips on how to care for and maintain your sustainable swimwear:

Rinse after use: Rinse your swimwear with fresh water immediately after each use to remove chlorine, saltwater, sweat, and sunscreen residue. This prevents the accumulation of chemicals and helps maintain the fabric's integrity.

Avoid machine washing: Machine washing can lead to friction and tangling, which may cause the fabric to pill or lose its shape. If you must use a washing machine, place the swimwear in a mesh bag to protect it from rough movements.

Air dry: Avoid using a tumble dryer, as the heat can weaken the fabric and elastic. Instead, gently squeeze out excess water and lay the swimwear flat on a towel to air dry in the shade.

Avoid direct sunlight and heat: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and excessive heat can fade colors and degrade the fabric. Always store your swimwear in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

By following these tips, you can ensure that your sustainable swimwear remains in good condition, reducing the need for frequent replacements and contributing to a more sustainable lifestyle.
